Columbine Picture and Story

SEEN THROUGH THE EYES OF ANGELS "Seventy times Seven" {Matt. 18 ;22} implies unlimited forgiveness, Seven Angels to comfort and speak to.
At the top of the picture is the male angel who represents Love. The flower he is holding is called Myrtle. It's fragrance helps to instill a feeling of well-being and can lift any heaviness of heart or unhappiness.

Next to the angel of love is the angel of Spirit and she wears a garland of violets in her hair. The Violets symbolize purity and is conducive to meditation and thought. The angel in blue is holding a branch of Rosemary. Rosemary is a flower of remembrance, friendship and faithfulness. In ancient Greece, pupils used to wear it in their hair during exams. In the center of the picture is the angel of innocence. She wears a garland of Daisies in her hair and around her neck. The Daisy is the flower of "the light". It is also a flower for children.
The Morning Glory's, which intertwine within the three angels in the foreground, are symbols of death and rebirth. The morning glory opens in the morning and dies the same evening. If you think of this while in prayer or meditation, you can reflect on the natural cycle of change to the next stage of your own life.

When you look at the angel of sorrow, and the two angels in white, we are reminded that sorrow does fade with time and the knowledge that the purity of GOD'S angels will be forever present in the lives of all who are affected by this event on our planet. The Passion Flower-- {crucifixion, passion} The center of the passion flower represents the crown of thorns. The five sepals symbolize the five wounds Christ suffered on the cross. The long style, split into three at the end, shows the three nails used to nail Christ to the cross. The circle of darker markings in the center of the flower represents the halo around Christ's head.

The passion flower, when focused on in prayer, meditation, in times of suffering or when we feel our faith in life or in God is failing, is a wonderful source for comfort. Times of doubt are generally times of worry. The passionflower is a climbing plant, which clings to whatever it grows up with long curling tendrils. This symbolized Christ holding firm to his purpose. It shows how we too can find strength to suffer if we have the support of your God, which we earn through faith.

It is my gift to you and the students of Columbine High School. I was hoping you may find a use for it in the memorial garden someone spoke of on the internet. It would please me greatly to know if the picture can be of use and comfort to the city and it's people.
